The Job:
Manchester Investment Film
The Brief:
Making the case for Manchester as an investment opportunity.
JLL wanted a short film that could communicate why Manchester was an attractive place to invest.
The film needed to bring together economic, population, employment and property information without becoming a dry presentation of facts and figures.
The Challenge:
Making data feel part of the story rather than something added on top.
There was a lot of statistical information to communicate, but the film still needed to feel visually engaging and give a strong sense of Manchester as a place.
The challenge was to balance evidence with atmosphere so the investment case felt both credible and appealing.
The Approach:
Marrying strong city imagery with organic motion graphics and statistics.
The film combined carefully chosen shots of Manchester with animated facts and figures that were designed to feel part of the visual world rather than separate from it.
The graphics worked with the footage to reinforce the story, helping the audience absorb key economic and property information without interrupting the flow of the film.
Why It Worked
The city and the evidence worked together as one story.
The imagery gave the film energy and a strong sense of place, while the motion graphics added the facts needed to support the investment case.
That balance made the film feel more engaging than a conventional data-led presentation while still communicating the information JLL needed the audience to understand.
